Grain of Truth challenges current Scotch Whisky convention. The aspiration is to prove the truth is out that single grain can be very bit as good as a single malt. Made from an uncommon composition of 50% wheat and 50% malted barley, the whisky is matured in bourbon barrels and finished for nine months in fine Oloroso sherry hogsheads. It is rich and easy drinking, with nutty, spicy notes.
Tasting Notes Nose - Rich and warming honey, peach and orange notes. Touch of dark chocolate and cognac. Palate - Orange, milk and dark chocolate. Balanced Oloroso notes. Finish - Dry and spicy.
Food Pairings: Italian style antipasti (meats, creamy cheese, olives) as the fruit and sweetness of the sherry and drying note of the wheat work well with rich flavours, or the savoury olive flavour.
