The Evolution is the first Tweeddale Blend to be bottled under the R&B Distillers venture. Alasdair Day inherited his great grandfathers cellar book of early 19th Century whisky recipes and begun recreating the historic blend in 2009, before becoming co-founder of R&B Distillers.
The Evolution is the oldest Tweeddale blend to date at 28 year old, yet the 1st of R&B Distillers Tweeddale journey.
Tasting Notes
Nose – Juicy Blackcurrant, creamy waxy notes, cherries and plums. A lemon icing note. On a second nosing, freshly baked pastries, and a hint of honey.
Palate - Big, full, juicy front palate. Christmas cake notes, blackcurrant and pear (almost glühwein-like fruity, sweetness) and a dash of orange zest.
Finish - Slight hint of American oak sharpening and structuring the finish. Touch of milk chocolate too.
