The Single Malts of Scotland Reserve Casks are a flavour-led exploration of fine single malts, bottled in small batches of four to six casks. Each parcel of bottles shows the variety of styles and flavours found across Scotland, and the differences in angel’s share depending on region. Bottled at a consistent 48% with no added colour and no chill-filtration, the Reserve Casks are intended to suit the palates of both novices and experts alike.
Distilled at Aultmore Distillery
A batch of six barrels from Aultmore distillery was used to create this single malt, distilled in 2011 and aged for more than 9 years. The creaminess and sweet intensity of this whisky make for a deliciously warming dram.
Tasting Note
Nose - Warm cinnamon rolls, with white icing, mingle with plenty of poached peaches. A crunchy candy apple drifts in, along with cherry gobstoppers and crunchy autumn leaves.
Palate - Custard creams, dipped in milky tea, evolve into the menthol creaminess of Milky Mints. Desiccated coconut, sprinkled on milk and-hazelnut chocolate, with a side of caramel ice cream and a touch of juicy mango.
Finish - The headiness of a dusty bookshelf is layered with overripe stone fruit, bread-and-butter pudding and a shadow of cork oak.
